The kickoff event of the JITI Intersections Series features Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation America (MITAC-A) on the regional jet market. Mr. Howard Thrall, senior vice president of MITAC-A, will discuss the dynamics of the regional aviation market in a talk entitled “The Future of Regional Jets.” From the history of the regional aviation sector and considerations about aircraft sizes to the role of regional aviation as a means for integration of metropolitan and regional economies, Mr. Thrall will examine the landscape of today’s regional aviation industry as well as its outlook.
A special focus of this presentation will be on the regional aircraft manufacturing sector itself. With Mitsubishi’s entry into the regional aircraft market, Mr. Thrall will share his views on this highly competitive market and the role that the new Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) will play.
The JITI Intersections Series provides a platform for transportation experts across modes and industries to interact with fellow practitioners and policymakers. As a supplement to JITI’s signature seminars, this series will facilitate further opportunities for open dialogue and exchange of ideas to improve transportation outcomes.
